Yesterday we started on a Big project in the Master Bedroom!
- It's something I've always wanted in the bedroom.
- It was part of my "Dream House" List.
- It's oh so romantic
- It will keep us Toasty Warm!
Framing went up yesterday, fireplace is going in today! We're keeping it on a SUPER tight budget, I'm hoping it will come in under $150 TOTAL! As always, I'll let you know how it goes!!!
Wow! Big project. Good luck - can't wait to see how it turns out.
ReplyDeleteWow, looking great and big ups if you can pull this off for $150~ LOVE that! Janell
ReplyDeletehow exciting - i've always wanted a bedroom fireplace despite the fact that we live in texas and would only use it about 5 times a year :(. can't wait to read about the progress.
ReplyDeleteOooh I'm so excited to see how this turns out!!! Especially for only $150!!
ReplyDeleteWow! So excited to see the result!
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted a fireplace in our bedroom. Can't wait to see how this turns out.
ReplyDeleteSo fun! On a different note, how do you like your PAX cabinets from Ikea? I've been looking at them for about a year now, but when I finally went to buy them, they were out of stock! So I haven't dealt with it and need to! Would love your feedback on how you like them!! Were they worth the money? Are they sturdy?

Ummm . . . they are pretty good. I don't think they'll move very well, like once you set it up and it stays in one spot they'd be good but I don't think they'd survive the move to a new house, or even room to room.
DeleteBut we're pretty happy with them. I'd give them an overall 8/10 but a sturdy-ness rating of 7/10. An old solid wood piece would definitely be more sturdy, but for the money they're pretty darn good.
Hope that helps
Ashli
How fun! Can't wait to see how the fireplace turns out!

Can't wait to see it! I've been begging for a fireplace for our living room, and if I could pull it off for $150 well I just might get my way!
ReplyDeleteNO WAY!!!!!! What a cozy project. What kind of fireplace? Obviously a gas one or one of those "heater" fireplaces with fake flames? Or is Lee crazy enough to cut wood and light a match right then and there? Kidding of course.
ReplyDeleteWow, you never cease to amazing me with your thrifty ways! I can't wait to see the finished product!

ReplyDeleteFirst the barn doors, now this?! Going to be fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see how it turns out. Where did you get those white cabinets in the picture? I'm looking from something similar to hold some linens in.
ReplyDeleteWill you post progress photos as well as the finished project? I'd love to see how you do this. I don't think our master bedroom has the space for it, but you never know... LOVE your blog! -Michelle.
