    Bacon on Friday??

I've swapped out today's Flowers on Friday post, for Bacon 'on Friday'. I know a two recipe week might be a bit overkill but there are flowers in the picture so if you don't like bacon you can look at the flowers, but seriously . . . who doesn't like bacon???

Have you ever wondered "is there anyway to make bacon worse for your health?" Yes, Yes you can, and it tastes AWESOME.
10 Slices of Bacon (we use a thicker cut bacon but it works just as well with regular cut bacon)
    1/2  cup Brown Sugar
2 tsp Dried Chili Flakes (we use 1 Tbsp, because we like it a big spicier, if you like it milder use 1 tsp)

Oven at 400 F. Baking the bacon in the oven is the best way to make bacon, no splattering grease. For this recipe it's the only way to cook the bacon, if you fry it in a pan all of the coating will come off.

Place bacon on a baking sheet, we use a wire rack on a baking sheet lined with foil, it makes clean up so much easier. If you don't have a wire rack just bake it on the sheet.

Lay out your slices of bacon, crumble your brown sugar on top of them, and sprinkle the dried chili flakes.
    Bake for around 25 minutes.
Eat, then plan an entire afternoon of high intensity exercise, to work off the fact that you just ate 10 slices of bacon with sugar crumbled on top!
But really Give it a try! It's Amazing!

Mmm...I like the sounds of brown sugar crumbled OVER the bacon. Sounds like a perfect way to cap off the week ;)

If you want to feel a lot better about the health of your bacon recipe - check this out: http://www.bbqaddicts.com/blog/recipes/bacon-explosion/
My brother in law and cousin recently made this on a "man trip" to the cabin, and added cheese in the middle. Quite possibly blocks all of your arteries before you actually finish ;)
      Happy Friday!

Yum! I am actually not the hugest fan of bacon...is that possible? But the recipe you described sounds a lot like this AMAZING bacon we had for brunch after our wedding. I have been trying to re-create it for years, and I think I will have to give your recipe a try!

Looks yummy. I love bacon. My Mom always made mine extra crispy 'cause she loved to hear me crunch on it. Now I cook it like that for my kiddos and they love it that way too. By the way love the tablescape.

This sounds great, but the recipe says 1/2 brown sugar. Is it 1/2 cup? I'm making this tomorrow!

Yum!!! Ok, but does it realllly not splatter inside the oven? I've been too nervous to try it. I make my hub cook it outside on the side burner to avoid the mess.

It really doesn't, especially if you use a rack on top of a cookie sheet. Because the fat drips off the bacon it's not frying in it and splattering. Even if you don't use a rack above a sheet, and just cook it on the sheet it doesn't really splatter at all.
        Hope that helps!
