I don't know if I'm being inspired by our neighbors to the south of us, but my three choices for backyard patio furniture were Red, White or Blue!!
I mentioned in multiple posts this summer that we were searching for patio furniture. We simply couldn't find anything we loved, or more specifically anything we loved in our price range!
Patio furniture is SERIOUSLY pricey.
So in true Mini Manor fashion I took to craigslist in search of more reasonably priced options. I came across this purple guy and while I wasn't crazy about the purple (okay honestly it made me cringe) the simple lines and $30 price tag swayed me and we were in the car on our way to pick it up!
It's a little bit smaller then I was hoping to find and in pretty rough shape but it's halfway through summer and beggars can't be choosers!
Like I mentioned at the start of this post, for some reason I had it in my head that the bench would be red, white or blue. I don't think white would have covered the purple very well, and I felt like red would be too dramatic in our serene backyard. So blue it was, NAVY BLUE to be exact.
We used Rust-oleum's Navy Blue, it's suppose to be good for the outdoors, I'll let you know how it holds up to our Vancouver RAIN!
We still need some cushions and an umbrella, but so far we've only spent $43, and I haven't seen anything in that price range half as cute as our new navy bench!!! haha
p.s. Check out those little wheels . . . too cute!

ReplyDeleteI love it, and the color you chose. We used a marine grade UV varnish on our bar top, and it has held up well to our hot sun and fall rains.
ReplyDeleteLooks more like a Moroccan indigo to me. I like it!
ReplyDeleteHi Ashli,
ReplyDeleteVery cute. I love that blue. Hmmm now I can't wait to see what color cushions you're going to choose. I am going to pick a color in my head and see if you end up with it. LOL. Great deal too.

ReplyDeletei don't know why i imagined a rattan or a wicker chaise/sectional, but this one looks totally awesome. i especially love the way the blue pops out against your white flowers.
ReplyDelete@Reenie your comment "jewed" is horrifically offensive. Ashli, would you mind taking it down?
ReplyDeleteI can do that.

Love that you posted this on our 4th of July too! :-) Great color - it looks lovely! ~Michelle (Boston)
ReplyDeleteLooks fabulous! Gosh, I love craigslist! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm confused - why is the little table-looking section in the middle slanted? Am I missing the purpose of it? My sangria would slide right off...
ReplyDelete@eileen: keep a stack of magazines on it. :P
ReplyDeletei\m thinking this won't be so thrifty if you needed to buy new cushions and a brolly for it. also i'm not sure size-wise it will be comfy for tall guys like you. go for a sectional or something you can stretch on!
