I have a How To: in the works. And I thought I'd answer a couple of FAQ's from yesterday about the ottoman.
- Yes, I'll definitely pop up a mini how to later this week!
- I used White denim (from the Fashion section of the fabric store). Yup the very same kind as my summer jeans.
- I didn't use a pattern, I just kind of measured and then made it as simple as humanly possible!
And of coarse the addition of the new ottoman! :)
Here's the "Overall" look of the living room:
I'm going to try to add more perspective shots of the house. I realize it's hard to see how all of the rooms are laid out.
Here's a perspective shot of the living room windows, or what you would see walking into the living room!
I hope your enjoying where it's going, I still have a few changes in mind:
- I'd like to add brighter, patterned curtain panels (still keeping the white at the top).
- I'd like to get a slightly smaller T.V. (I still can't believe Lee agreed to this :)
- Add cabinets on either side of the fireplace . . . maybe I'm still not sure how that will work, they'll have to be very narrow but still deep enough to hold the media equipment.
- A couple more piece of artwork (my favorite)
I love your living room, so bright & beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteWow. This is beautiful. At first glance, I thought you were sharing pics from Pinterest, not your own living room.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving it. It's so bright and comfy looking.
ReplyDeleteYour room is gorgeous. I love it all. So pretty. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteTotally silly question: But how have you put your fern in that basket where it doesn't leak all over the place? Have you put a plate under the pot inside the basket? and PS- the ottoman looks fabulous- I have been scared to take on sewing projects outside of pillows, but if you can do it, maybe I can too!
ReplyDeleteSuch a refreshing inviting room; I love it!!
ReplyDeleteYour living room is so pretty. The colors are soothing, yet clean and crisp.
ReplyDeleteI just love that big white clock. Is that a DIY project or did you buy it? I'd love to have one just like it.
I just bought a fern like that from Home Depot--not I know why! Do you remember where you found the basket for it?
ReplyDeleteThat should be "now" I know why--sorry!
ReplyDeleteAshli, Your home is so beautiful and homey feeling. It looks like a model home. If ever you want to jump over the border and come to Wisconsin, you are welcome to help me tweak my house!! You have amazing taste!!
ReplyDeleteAlana- The basket was from Homesense, But any old basket would do :)
ReplyDeleteAllison- the fern is in a pot, and there is a dish with sides under the pot so any water that leaks out will be caught by the dish :)
Hope that helps
Thanks for all the living room love :)
Ashli - the room is light and fresh and happy...it's got your personality all over it. Only thing to improve the pic would be the darling Max front and center :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm going crazy to see Lee's sliding barn door, too! Ali
I see Master Max made it in to one photo...love that! I wish I had a living room JUST like yours. It's really perfection, Ashli!
ReplyDeleteI just love your living room and your pictures of it are so beautiful! It's so airy and inviting.
ReplyDeleteAbsolute perfection! Very wonderfully done. Hope you have a grand evening. Toodles, Kathryn @TheDedicatedHouse
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! You've got amazing style!!
ReplyDeleteSuch an absolutely stunning and restful space! Built-in cabinets on the sides of your fireplace would look fantastic. You can never have enough concealed storage.
ReplyDeletebtw - there is no way I could get hubby to agree to a smaller tv...its bigger the better in his mind. lol.
Love, love, love!
ReplyDeleteOhhhh I am in living room love. I dream about having whites and creams.... one day :)
ReplyDeleteI love this room! Makes me want to go spruce up my family room today, LOL. You have quite the green thumb...I am struggling to keep our 2 houseplants going.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for the how to! Have you ever done a house layout plan anywhere? I'd love to see it if there is one.
ReplyDeleteWe have a Floor plan post right here:

Hope that helps, I also find it much easier to visualize when I have a plan to look at :)
Thanks, Ashli. Any old basket will do, that's true, it's finding one big enough which will be tricky. I'll keep my eyes peeled at Home sense. Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteHoly super loving it Batman... Nice work Ashli.

I saw you featured today over at hodge:podge, and so love your home. We have two little yorkies and they're a big part of our family! Anyhow, I just had to follow your blog, I have gotten sucked in to your old posts and can't wait to see what you do next to your beautiful home! :)
ReplyDeleteQuestion- where did you get your coffee table shown in this post? Thanks!!

How do you keep your fern alive inside? I guess living in Louisiana means keeping all windows covered at all times of the day because it gets entirely too hot and that, unfortunately means no plants can live inside.
ReplyDeleteWould LOVE to know where you got your couch!? I LOVE IT and have been looking for one similar forever!
