Since me and my shoes kicked Lee out of the Walk-in, he needed a wardrobe! Something large enough to hold his entire (XXL) wardrobe but something that didn't stick out like a sore thumb!
We picked the Ikea BOTNE wardrobe because it was large enough, because it was simple and because we could personalize it.
It started it's life with us looking like this:
Then we added some rub-on numbers. I picked them up from Home Depot they were around $2 each and they were intended as Address Numbers!
Then we added some door handles also from Home Depot.
**The baskets on top are our laundry baskets. They are from JYSK.

I love that. What is name of the basket from JYST. Do they ship US ?
ReplyDeleteHi Brockey!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a swedish store that has franchises around the world but no stores in the US (I was shocked) and I checked they don't ship!
Sorry I couldn't be more helpful and give you some better news! I'll be on the lookout for a store that sells something close! I'll let you know when I find it!
Lots of Love
Ashli
hey i just assembled this botne, do you have a huge gap between the 2 wardrobe doors?
ReplyDeleteHi Bond,
ReplyDeleteLee said ours had a big gap in the middle too, he had to adjust the hinges a few times until they met up perfectly in the middle!!
Hope that helps a bit,
Ashli
I was trying to find these nice handles on the HD site (as we do not have this store in my country), but failed. Anyway, do they ship to Poland??
ReplyDeleteThanks alot!!! Agi
I love the changes you made! It looks so much better with the handles. =)
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog through Pinterest - everything is SO CUTE! This little Ikea number looks like it's straight from the PB catalogue - or from a custom builder! You and your husband have me so inspired.
ReplyDeleteAlmost personalize your cabinet, I love how you put the handle, I think it was also a good design.
ReplyDeleteCan anyone be advise me on how do you close the gap after installing the doors ? I'm having a issue with doors 1 & 2. It's leaving about a inch or two between the doors. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThere should be little screw-type thingys on the hinges of the doors. You just adjust them to make the door slide left/right and even tilt a little bit in either direction. Sometimes it takes some playing around with to get them right! Here is a link that shows a pic of which screw to twist http://www.ikeafans.com/FAQInstallationHingeAdjustment.htm
DeleteLove your site and your ideas! Can you tell me how you like this wardrobe after living with it for a while? We are renovating our two upstairs bedrooms and they don't have closets. We were thinking about flanking the back windows with these wardrobes in each bedroom to create a built-in look. Does your site have any pictures of the inside of the cabinets? I tried looking on the ikea site and google but have yet to find any pictures of the inside and storage options (shelves, rods, etc.) (you can email me at egkleinmann@gmail.com if you have pics!)
ReplyDeleteHow did you get the two smaller doors to come together. My two doors have a small gap when closed and its annoying! I tried every way to adjust the hardware. Help please, thanks :)
