This post doesn't need much explanation, their before fireplace wasn't great :S. They were hesitant to paint it because they . . . honestly I have no idea why they were hesitant to paint it.
A coat of white paint can do wonders! I really loved the addition of the framed botanical prints. The fireplace is really wide and tall, leaving not much room at the top . . . I love the grouping of the small frames. Finding something in the right scale was hard, but I think she nailed it.

That does not even look like the same room! Love the white, and all of the botanical prints. And, while I love the ship...I would find another home...it takes away from the beautiful prints she chose. Maybe move it to the bottom left to balance it all out? Great job mom!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right - why would you not paint it? Look how great it looks now.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great makeover !
ReplyDeleteWow! What a difference!! Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteWow! Truly what a difference some paint can make. It looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteGreat change!!
ReplyDeleteI love a white fireplace! Great job :)
ReplyDeleteLove the painted white -- your mom can get rid of the brass on the fireplace too if she wants. Home Depot sells HIGH HEAT RUSTOLEOM BLACK SPRAY PAINT in gloss or flat .. (I did flat) ... tape off the fireplace and glass and surrounding area and spray away the 80's/90's ;) It will look fantastic and so much more updated when done. Especially against that wonderful white. You could also take off the accent lights and spray them as well.
ReplyDeleteGreat Job !!!
The black frames really add an element of smartness, too. Agree - ship on hearth. Great job!
