Just a quick post today, I was at Ross last week, and I saw this little white ceramic gnome. I didn't even hesitate, he was less than $5 and I love him.
He will probably go outside in our shade garden with the Hosta, but since the Hostas aren't out yet, I thought I would enjoy him inside for now!
He's about 12 inches tall, and 4 inches wide. I have never had an outside ornament before, but I kind of liked the play between the traditional Gnome in the yard and the modern, crisp white color.
I think every room needs a little touch of whimsy and outside is gnome exception . . . although a yard full of bits and pieces would look funny but one or two choices items is nice.
This is probably one of the weirder purchases I've made . . . that and my white ceramic husband. But you can't help who and what you love ;)
I'll share his new spot when he makes his way outside.

Cute! I love it. Just be careful placing it outside...sometimes the glazing they used is effected by hot and cold temps.
ReplyDeleteAshli - I love it! Gnomes (and other whimsical garden people) are becoming a "thing" around our house. I will keep my eye out for little guys like this the next time I head down south! :)
ReplyDeleteI vote to let knomey stay inside! I have a shiny white knome with a yellow pokadot hat, all ceramic and it looks pretty good sitting on my bookcase atop a few books :)
ReplyDeleteCUTE, if I saw him first he would have been mine.
ReplyDeleteCute! I want to hide a gnome in our garden, but my husband insists that we get a huge one if we are going to get one. So...you know...probably not.
ReplyDeleteVery cute gnome Ashli. I have a question totally not related to your post. What label maker do you use? I just moved in my new house and want to buy one to get organize but it's hard to decide which one to buy. Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteHa Ha Ha - "Every room needs a little touch of whimsy and outside is gnome exception". This is just too funny! You are a hoot! I love your little guy and I don't think you can beat the price! By the way, will you please share your source and price of that great lamp?
ReplyDeleteI just love him ...... of course, I love anything that is white. I think he is a very classy guy :)
ReplyDeleteHe's very cute and I do love the white. Regards Kathy A, Brisbane, Australia
ReplyDeleteI thinks he looks good where he is. He's much too nice to go outside.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of gnomes, but I love this one! I would keep him inside. I think he likes to be indoors looking out.
ReplyDeleteI spent some time in Netherlands a few years ago and saw many, many miniature gardens (the size of a handkerchief, really) expertly curated, complete with miniature hedge labyrinths and tiny fountains. Many of them included crazy amounts of gnomes and other figurines - I always thought it showed great sense of humor. I mean, what can you do when your front yard is 2x4m? You stuck a family of gnomes in it!
ReplyDeleteLove the quirkiness of this little guy. And love your blog! I have been reading it for quite sometime and would love for you to come check out mine!
ReplyDeleteWill you say where you got him? I saw one in red today and he was $95.
