    Boston

It felt weird to talk about our new chair today. Our hearts are in Boston. We had a friend running, she is fine, she finished about 10 minutes before the explosions.

Like everyone else we just stared at the TV wondering who would do that, worried, and angry. I popped on to facebook and saw this quote. One of my volleyball coaches (and a woman I look up to and admire so much in my adult life) had posted it on her timeline. I saw the incident through new eyes. This is something I want to hold on to and remember to share with our children one day.
We'll be back with two posts tomorrow, but today our thoughts and our hearts are in Boston. We are hoping you and all of your loved ones are safe and sound.

Great post. We too sat and watched FB (which was lit up all afternoon) as friends running checked in. At dinner time when I needed to talk frank to my girls about what happened - I invoked that saying above. It provided the calm they both so needed.

Thank you for thinking of Boston. I've lived here for 7 years and have camped out all day many times right where the bombs went off, so it hit home for me. I posted a blog about what the Boston Marathon is to me, if you want to check it out.

Yes. Terrorism is here in America and we must learn to live and deal with it now. After being safe for so long, Americans are learning what it is like to live with fear. I do hope that the authorities will soon find the perpetrators, and give full justice. In the meantime, my prayers for the safe recovery of the victims go on. Thank you for mentioning this today; you are the first blog I have read who has.

My thoughts are certainly with the families and Boston today. Sad circumstance over there.

Thank you for not posting about new chairs on a day like this! This sounds weird but i feel it is so important not to go on with business as usual when such devastating things happen.
The quotation touched me a lot and I will keep it in my heart. Whenever bad things happen I tell my kids things will turn out fine in the end - but even though I do believe what I tell them it is sometimes hard to digest.
Yours is so much more comforting

Thank you for posting about this. As a Bostonian, it has been difficult for me to read the "silly" things that some people have been posting with no mention of the tragedy at the marathon. Thank you again for thinking of Boston and spreading the word.
