The Pressure Regulator on our stove went (or so I am told), which meant we have no gas pressure in our stove which meant no yummy cupcakes for anyone. (Don't worry about leaking gas or anything like that it was just a sensor regulator thingy . . . no danger here. Which didn't stop me from grabbing Max and running outside like a mad woman haha)
The company we bought the stove from can order one, and rush deliver it for Monday so it's looking like a cold salads and sandwiches for dinner this weekend, luckily we had no entertaining plans. Generally speaking Holiday's that involve excessive amounts of drinking and green food coloring are ones that we don't host, in our mostly neutral, light beige carpeted house! ;) (a little word to the wise).
In the meantime I'll be getting my Barefoot Contessa on. I checked out most of her books from the library this week, I plan on having a Barefoot Contessa Week next week! That's right a whole week of Barefoot Contessa Meals! As always I'll let you know how it goes. I also have some great hooks to share with you as soon as I install and photograph them!
I'll try to whip up a batch of Cupcakes at my sister's house this weekend. I'll post pictures this weekend if she let's me take over her kitchen . . . but really who wouldn't let you take over their kitchen for cupcakes ? ? ?
We're wishing everyone a Happy St.Patrick's Day!!!
Enjoy the Barefoot Contessa! I have three of her cookbooks and LOVE them.

Ina Garten is my favorite. I could wash her all day and dream of being invited to her house for brunch.
ReplyDeleteWATCH her...I meant to say WATCH her. I doubt she'll be inciting me to her house now...
ReplyDeleteWe have several of her cookbooks and love them! We made this AWESOME five cheese pasta dish. Delicious, but quite expensive when you add up the cost of all the different cheeses!
ReplyDeleteHer lemon chicken breast are really easy and good! Have a great weekend!

Leanne Wight - I got the Barefoot Contessa Family Style cookbook for Christmas. You have to make the Parmesan Chicken on pg. 82 it is soooo good!
ReplyDeleteOh man do I love me some Ina! Next week is sure to be a hit at your house. Her peanut butter icing is insanely good on Guinness cupcakes...in case you decide to celebrate St Pats a little late.
ReplyDeleteAnd cookbooks from the library? Why hadn't I thought of that! Genius! Almost as genius as having a Barefoot Contessa WEEK! Love!
I'm sorry to hear about your stove! I'f you have an electric water cooker you don't have to be limited to sandwiches and salads though! You can still cook pasta without the water to actually boil all the time. You boil the water, put it in a pot and just make sure you have a tight lid on the pot. It just takes a bit longer then normal. Then you can eat a pasta salad (very jummy with pesto, cheese, cherry tomatoes, peppers and other vegetables that don't need to be cooked). Have a great weekend!

Too funny, Mark decided out of the blue to cook beef bourguignon out of one of her cookbooks we have tonight! Oh, and we agree the lemon chicken is also a favorite of ours.
ReplyDeletewhere do you live? You can take over my kitchen to mkae cupcakes anytime!
ReplyDeleteYou poor thing, we had a similar crisis during our Christmas baking extravaganza a few years ago. The poor dh was not happy. Can't wait to see your Contessa Experience. I make her spiced nuts, spaghetti bologones regularly. Her Eton mess is great for a simple yet showy desert too!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to seeing what you have to say about some of her recipes.
