With Christmas almost here and the end of the year fast approaching, I feel a bit reflective. We had such an amazing year this year (blog wise). Our readership grew, we found some amazing sponsors to help keep the bloggy lights on, and our moodboards were a big hit! I tackled somewhere close to 50 boards this year and they were each so much fun . . . way more work than I thought . . . but fun!!! :)
I don't feature the boards I do unless someone gives me permission to, the way I see it is, they paid me to make it for them so they own it. If someone gives me permission to share I will definitely share it!
Which brings me to this post, here's an exterior board I made recently. I have a serious LOVE of Yellow doors and I finally got a chance to put one in a board. Along with this FABULOUS window box in the top left corner done by Miss Tracey Ayton.
I've always loved the middle picture (originally from Blueprint Magazine) and I was so excited to use it as inspiration and put it into a board! Along with some colors, some plant choices, painted stone (bottom left) and a light from Lowes.
Pop back tomorrow for a post on Bits and Pieces. More specifically, a post one where and how, we store all the miscellaneous bits and pieces that come with home ownership. You know, the candles, dog leashes, light bulbs, screw drivers, batteries, the not so pretty, yet necessary parts of home.

Oh my word, it's like you made this mood board for ME! We painted the exterior of our house a very similar color to the swatch on the top with crisp white trim this past summer and replaced all of our brass light fixtures those exact ones from Lowe's. I am biding my time until I can paint our front door yellow, and pinning this so I can refer back to it when we start landscaping this summer! Love it, Ashli! Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this and especially the yellow door! I would love to be able to paint our front door but thanks to our HOA, I don't think it's possible...
ReplyDeleteI adore this colour combo I have it in my bathroom and just love it. I intend on painting my front door once my front courtyard is approved by the council, not sure if I will go bold and yellow, maybe a blue or green will suit my house better. But definatley want to paint the door!
ReplyDeleteThat is great news your blog is going well, it is always a pleasure to read your posts and I wish you lots of success for 2013 :)
I too am in LOVE with yellow doors. I live in a lil white house ~ my door is currently red... but I plan to paint it the yellow/gold color that's in my dining room. Maybe I'll get it done when I'm off for a few days for Christmas =)
ReplyDeleteI've been on a yellow kick for awhile. I just found a new comforter at KMart that is grey & yellow. I repainted my bedroom walls a light grey... and I absolutely LOVE it. It's so calm... cool... cozy. (It was a light brown-ish color, and my comforter was brown & blue).
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing our board Ashli! I am still ooohing and ahhhing over all the details, and trying hard not to wish winter away so spring can come and we can get busy making our house beautiful with your suggestions! :) You have a gift and I am so thankful for all the time & effort you put into your work. Looking forward to "hiring" you for another board soon! :)
