    Things are Crazy around here!

To say things are simply "Crazy" around here doesn't do the situation justice.

Yesterday I cooked a turkey at 4:30 am! And last night I went to bed at 4pm and woke up at 3 am this morning . . . wide awake!
I've been grocery shopping at 6 am this week, which by the way is an awesome time to grocery shop, it's dead and you get first pick'ins of all the produce!

So why all the madness?? Lee's work has been crazy, so he's been working weird hours and my attempt to match his schedule so that we would have more time together over the last two weeks, has done a tailspin into some very weird hours that in no way match Lee's hours.
    Points for trying???
So, Hopefully I'll be back to a regular sleeping schedule by the end of the week, which will result in a regular posting schedule . . . apparently sleeping and posting are inter-related in my world.

    Thanks for your patience!
Anyone else ever flipped their schedule?? Better yet . . . anyone ever grocery shopped at 6 am??? haha

I used to have a job where I sometimes started work at 5 am (an hour across town!) and sometimes finished at 11pm. My schedule was crazy... for over a year. I'm happier now back in a 9-5 job!

When my kids were little they woke up around five-ish every morning, so around seven, when the grocery store finally opened we used to hand on the lock! Thankfully the kids grew out of that and now, I never go for grocery before 8.30 in the morning.

No, haven't flipped my schedule, but i LOOOOOVE grocery shopping at 6 am! Call me weird, but grocery shopping is my idea of a good time, and I love how empty the stores are and how all the aisles are stocked!

I confess to having grocery shopped at all hours, including 6:00 a.m.! I love the quiet.

I live in a small rural town, they don't even unroll the sidewalks until 9 or 10 am. I would not adjust well to having my schedule turned upside down. Hope things settle down for you soon.

After 10pm or around 6am are the best times to shop...no people, shelves are stocked (or being stocked so the stuff is in the aisle even if not on a shelf), I have the rest of the day to do what I want. As a bonus, early morning is when produce and meat reduced items are put out!

Oh yes, lots of time. My husband is in the military and his schedule is constantly getting changed. We often shop late at night and I've done a few grocery runs in the early AM hours, it's always nice to have the store to yourself! My suggestion for getting yourself back on track is to either get up earlier so you're tired sooner the next evening, or stay up later and later and eventually switch your schedule. Best of luck!

I go to the grocery store on my way home from the gym at 7am. It's AWESOME!!!! Feel bad for the patron behind me getting his one coffee and donut but oh well...it's great!

Saturday 6:30am is the only time we grocery shop. No other shoppers and we're in & out in no time.

Seriously? what store is this, actually? or is it a farmer's market -- everyone knows they're probably up with the cows. the stores here actually open around 8:00 am, i think... heresay only -- since it's actually 10 before i manage to change from pajamas. this has got me all curious, like some kind of subterranean lifestyle hitherto unheard of. oh, and i live in Toronto. (is that even an excuse, lol?)

The earlier the better for my grocery shopping. A group of us friends would get up early on the weekend to go shopping around 5am. It was so much fun! My schedule gets twisted around sometimes and I'm retired!!

I have grocery shopped at 1 and 2am, it's the best. Everything is being stocked, employees are actually helpful and there are no screaming kids or people walking around with a bluetooth in their ear sharing their life story with the whole world...

Ha! I feel ya girlfriend. I am in the midst of planning a huge Christmas event at our church...240 women, never been done before. Hence, I have not posted in forever, and am praying to get our own Christmas decorations up!!! Shopping??? Who has time? And yes, Elie loves making fun of people who "tell all" while shopping and talking on their cellphones!!

I don't know if you have a Walmart where you live, but I have heard that 6 a.m. is the time the 'Walmartians' come out (people going to shop at Walmart in their nighties, undies, or (very creatively) nothing at all! Seen any??

I don't know if I've ever gone that early, but we shop late at night pretty frequently! It really is the best! I hadn't considered the early morning benefits of sale meats and first pick on the produce -- we might have to give it a whirl :). Hope you catch up on your sleep & get back to a more comfortable schedule soon!

Ashli I just had a quick question. Back in May 2011 you posted faq's about yourselves. In the post it mentioned you would answer more questions later about why you stay at home. I couldn't find the post after the May 30, 2011 post about that. Do you remember which one? I am new to this blog and was catching up. Thanks!

I LOVE grocery shopping that early! I do it quite regularly! My work schedule and where we live compared to where I work means I have to get up early early to commute during the week so on the weekend, I naturally wake up around 6 and don't want to waste a second of my precious weekend. Getting mundane and time consuming things like shopping done before my husband is even aware I have left the house is one of the most satisfying feelings in my apparently sad and pathetic life. ha!
