After our Bedroom post on Monday, I received a few emails asking about what we do to make the rest of the house feel like fall. I thought I would write a whole post on it, pulling photos and inspiration from some of our archives. That post will be ready first thing Monday morning but I thought I'd serve up a couple teasers! My number #1 Fall decorating tip is LAYER!
Layer Pillows:
Layer Throws:
Layer Everything . . . Layer your hair, make a lasagna so you can layer ingredients.
Heck, I want another Yorkie just so I can layer it on top of Max just for Fall! ;) just kidding.
Lee brought home some fabulous fall flowers today, I can't wait to share them tomorrow!

Where did you get your fur throw? I'm looking for one that is good quality but doesn't cost a fortune.
ReplyDeleteLove the little pink layer at the bottom of the last pic!
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree more! It is cooling off here and I am ready to bring out the throws. And yes, we too always have an added layer in several rooms of our house thanks to Kylee! LOL
ReplyDeleteLooks awesome. Can't wait to see the full post!
ReplyDeleteI see you have little stairs for your dog. Did you make them? Our ten year old chihuahua hurt her back and the vet suggested we get something like that for her, but they're shockingly (to me) expensive. I'd love to see a DIY option.
Ladies I've been layering sweaters, sox, and even my coffee (with Bailey's)! Love your blog :) Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian people - cheers!
ReplyDeleteGrace, you could go to an upholstery supply store, buy some X-firm 6" foam sheeting and cut it with a sharp carpet knife into strips, then glue them together in a stair-step stack. Mock up a cover using butcher paper first(trace the end shape) then sew in a waahable nappy fabric (gives traction).
ReplyDeleteHere on the Calif coast, we use throws and comforters all year! But pumpkins and squashes come out in force!
