I LOVE a little bouquet on a side table.
Especially when it's in a favorite vase of mine. I love the little fish bowl vase. It's actually the easiest shape to work with. Because the opening is small it groups flowers close together, but the base is wide so you can angle the stems to find the perfect spot.
And lastly, we get a lot of questions about the little ant that sits on our side table. I think that a room is never complete without some whimsy and our little ant is definitely silly!

Love that shape of vase as well, always makes arrangements look so nice. Your ant is to cute!
ReplyDeleteYep, me too. I have a vase that shape and size...and I use it more than any other. It's just perfect for almost any arrangement. (It's holding day lilies right now on my bedside table.) I love the ant too!! As soon as I saw the picture, even before reading what you wrote, I noticed the little guy! I have a cute little turtle in my den and a fun elephant on the apothecary chest in my living room, etc. Just like you said, a little bit of whimsy just makes you smile when you walk into a room. :)
ReplyDeleteI love those vases too. They work perfectly! I see them all the time at Goodwill for a quarter, and can't resist picking them up.
ReplyDeleteI think that should be a main stay in our vase cupboards. I just love that ant!!!

ReplyDeleteThat arrangement is gorgeous! And, I love your little vase. Our peonies just started blooming and a grouping would look fabulous in that type of vase. I adore that little ant too!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty little vignette. I love the whimsical ant, and I think it looks lovely to have the flowers picking up the tone of one of the books. Perfect, simple elegance.

It is a gorgeous vase! Thanks for sharing, I will follow on my way out so I know the path back to your special place. I hope you will find the time to come visit me soon and do the same. I look forward to supporting and engaging together. Cheers SpecialK XoXo
ReplyDeleteIm always confused about which type of vase to use when I buy flowers and end up filling and changing vases 3 times or so before I get it right, so annoying! I dont actually have one of these fish bowl shapes, maybe thats where Im going wrong I'll need to add one to my collection maybe. Thanks for the tip girly :)
ReplyDeleteI think I might have to keep my eye out for a small bowl vase like that. All of my vases are tall, so need big bunches to look full. They're not very practical for my side tables either. Your one looks fab...just the right height and a great pop of colour. I hear you on the touch of whimsy...I have little sparrows every where. lol
