And I hung it in our Laundry Room Cabinet.
There is NO better place to store your Washing Machine and Dryer Manuals then right where you would use them. If our laundry machines weren't enclosed by a cabinet and legs I might have considered sticking the pocket to the side of the machines and storing them there! But I think they're just as great in the cabinet and actually more accessible too!
While it is super functional to store them right above the machines, it's not super attractive or useful for day to day use, so I quickly printed out Martha Stewart's Stain Removal Guide and slipped it in there, in front of the manuals. And having a stain removal guide at your fingertips is pretty darn handy too!
For some reason having the manuals right where they should be gives me tons of happiness and just plain makes me feel good. I think that's what organizing is suppose to do . . . make you feel good!
I love the idea and practicality of it. Thanks so much for sharing. I am definitely adding this to my Laundry room makeover that was inspired by you both!
ReplyDeleteOk, this is definitely a light bulb moment for me... hello! how smart!!!! Thank you SO much for sharing! I am pinning this right now so I don't forget to do this. :)
ReplyDeleteLove this idea. I have mine stored in my laundry room cabinet, but in a plastic file...this would be more accessible!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I am to get one myself. Between, how did you mount up the plastic folder?
ReplyDeleteI am all over that kinda stuff. Makes me super duper happy. If only I didn't have to trek all the way downstairs in the basement to visit my washer and dryer.
ReplyDeleteReally cute! May I ask where you got that basket in your cupboard? So cute!
ReplyDeleteAnonymous- The folder has a mounting sticker on the back, all you have to do is peel off the plastic and stick it up!!! The peel off plastic also comes with a little tab to peel it off with (I thought that was pretty smart :)
ReplyDeleteMomentum- The small basket in the cupboard is from Ikea!!! Hope that helps

So simple, so great! I am also curious as to where the laundry detergent, borax, etc. came from. Much better than cardboard boxes! Thanks for sharing your tips...
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy,
ReplyDeleteThe containers for the borax and washing soda are just a dollar store find (if you in Canada they were from the "NOTHING OVER A DOLLAR STORE" with the big yellow and green signs). If your not from Canada, The Container store has similar ones but definitely more expensive!
Hope that helps a bit!

great idea again....I am always looking for manuals when its an emergency!
ReplyDeleteI would have to completely agree with you on that one..... do you have a link to the product so I can see if they sell them in Australia? How's the rest of the library/study coming along? Regards Kathy A, Brisbane, Australia
ReplyDeleteReally clever idea! I have a stain guide laminated but it is perfect for the manuals!
ReplyDeleteSuch a simple, effective organizing tool. I love that I can do it right now, and have a project marked off of my list in ten minutes.
ReplyDeleteI do the same thing. No better place to store manuals.
ReplyDeleteMy manuals are all stored in 1 place, my computer. Paper manuals go straight in the recycle bin at our home. I figure why store a paper manual when I can download and save it in pdf on my computer. I do not print recipes or by recipe books either. I simply bring my notebook computer into the kitchen when needed. However, I love that you've used this pocket for your stain removal guide - great idea! Your laundry room is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThat is a brilliant idea! Thanks for sharing Ash.
