Okay so it's not quite done yet! But I thought I would share where we're at.
I went ahead and did what every single organization book told me NOT to do . . . I bought the boxes and organizing gadgets FIRST! Which resulted in me returning 4 boxes and buying smaller ones.
Which resulted in an extra $40 being spent on an impulse purchase at the store . . . seriously I have NO willpower!
Anywho,
I found the Boxes at Jysk. They were $4 for the larger ones and $3 for the smaller ones.
I still have to paint them, and add labels. I'm thinking PINK PINK PINK!! Since it's MY desk (Lee will have his own), I thought when else am I going to get to paint things bright pink . . . there is no guarantee I'll have a daughter, I could very well end up with sons, so I'm going to take the opportunity and go with Martha Stewart's Persimmon Red!!
I also have to add a printer! Lee cut out the back of the cabinet so that we could keep the electrical outlet and add a printer. It will need to be wireless so that I don't have to hook my computer up to it every time, but most importantly it must be less than 12" inches deep!
So there's my newly organized not yet decorated office cabinet . . .
And this last picture is just because he's soooo darn CUTE!!!!

Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteHow fun would it be to open up an innocently looking white cabinet to *BAM* *Pink innards! Glad to see someone having good luck with JYSK. I've heard so many people rave about it but both times I've went I've been underwhelmed. Love your binders! Where did you get them?
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, you do have the world's second cutest dog (sorry, my mother's 8lb wheaten-schnauzer has already snagged the top spot)
Love it Ashli! And yes, we've all made the mistake of buying the containers first at one point in time. JYSK sounds like my kinda store...is it like the Container Store? I love the idea of pink. It is YOUR space afterall, and it's not like it's in the open ALL the time. You never cease to amaze me with all you accomplish!!
ReplyDeleteThanks . . .
ReplyDeleteThe binders are from Target.
and Jysk is like a really budget version of ikea! But super cheap . . . it makes Ikea look like Restoration Hardware!!!
Seriously Max is the cutest dog ever!
ReplyDeletePink is my favourite colour and my office is painted in a pink called Marshmallow Bunny by Benjamin Moore, it is attached to our bedroom which is covered in a Laura Ashley rose wallpaper.I balanced this with plain white curtains and duvet cover. My husband could't care less about the colour as long as the bed is comfortable.
Thanks for sharing this, I really love what you've done so far! I can't wait to see what else you do with it. :)
ReplyDeleteI need to know where you got the green boxes!!!
ReplyDeleteAshli, not only can you organize like no one I've ever seen, but you always manage to make it all look so pretty. I'm glad someone else asked about the binders, because I was going to ask. Can't wait to see Lee's desk too.
ReplyDeleteForgot to say how handsome Max looks!
ReplyDeleteDoes he staple?
ReplyDeleteI'm looking for boxes similar to those so I'm gonna have to hit up Jysk. I thought nothing less to what you have done, LOVE IT.
ReplyDeleteLooking great! Love the idea of painting the boxes pink. How fun would that be every time you open it!? I think I'd probably leave the doors open just to gaze at them, for the first few days at least. :p
ReplyDeleteAwesome progress on the desk! I love the idea of pink...it' such a happy color. I have those green IKEA boxes too and I love them. I had 4 of the grey CD size before I moved...BTW, did I mention I moved to North Carolina 3 weeks ago?
ReplyDeleteYou sure crammed a lot of storage into that small space! Looks amazing!
