It seems like an entire lifetime ago now, but at one point in my life I worked as a sales rep for a women's silk lingerie line. I think the part I liked about it the most was that I got to dress up for work. First thing I bought was a suit. A very poor fitting suit, somehow I always felt like an imposter in it, like a little girl playing dress up. It wasn't until a year at the job that I bought a beautiful well fitting suit and I felt like a stylish young lady, fast forward 5 years and my "suit" is now yoga pants and a long sleeve t-shirt, but I still have that suit in my closet and it still gets used often.
Express has a great line of Modern cut women's suits ( no 80's suits here).
Because I'm a house wife I don't need suits for my day to day life, but I still do use my suits. I like to break them up and use the jacket during the day with jeans.
And maybe the pants at night with a sparkly top and high heels.
Express is running a contest I thought you would like a $500 Suit Makeover in their Express sweepstakes! Just 'Like' them on Facebook, then go to the "Work it Sweeps" tab for your chance at one of four $500 gift cards
Which suits are your favorite? And how you you use your suits, all together for work or broken up for day to night?
I don't have to wear suits at my job (I am a teacher at a secondary school), but I like the suit jacket/jeans (skirt) combination a lot. It is serious without being too serious.

I don't have to wear suits either but I have an Express Suit for interviews etc. I love it, its so stylish and fits really well.
ReplyDeleteLove your Fashion posts. Would love to see more. My workplace is very flexible when it comes to dressing: semi-casual, casual, semi-formal, etc. as long as no ripped jeans/see through blouses. I wear suits mostly to church.
ReplyDeleteWhere I work the dress code isn't too strict so I don't wear suits to work. I have many pairs of dress pants that I wear on certain days, but I don't have any suit jackets. I would love to have a nice suit for interviews and whatnot.
ReplyDeleteI haven't worn a suit in forever! However, I am loving their new line. So easy to pair together or separate for many different looks.
