I see your tour of the town and I raise you a tour of the province :) (insert evil laugh> hahahaha)
My number one favorite thing to do on a warm summer night is head out to the Richmond Night Market. It's a Night Market in Richmond, it starts in May of every year and runs until September. On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights, it opens at 7 (I think) and closes at midnight.
I don't go for the shopping, the shopping isn't that great, it's the FOOD I go for. Some of the BEST chinese food you can get. They also have roasted fresh corn on the cobb, with any topping you could think of, and there is a deep fried Mars bar!!!! (yes you read that right, it's a deep fried Mars bar).
And my favorite, the hurricane potato, it's a spiral cut potato, on a skewer, with any potato chip flavor you can think of.
My favorite place to shop and a great place to hang out for an afternoon is Fort Langley, BC. The have fantastic antique shops, great little restaurants, and just in general fabulous shopping. Seriously this is what the town actually looks like!!
and if I had tons of money, I would live in Kitsalino, Vancouver, and only shop at the Granville Island market, but since I'm not rich we just visit the Market once or twice a month :)
And now for the beautiful, My sister and mother in law happen to be fabulous nature photographers so I stole some pictures from them :)
Here I am fly fishing in Kelowna:
VanDussen Gardens in Vancouver, some of the most incredible grounds I've ever seen!
Lee's Hometown is in the Interior of British Columbia, his parents still live there.
They get tons of snow
I hope you enjoyed our TOUR! I've had so much fun this week, Blogaversaries ROCK!
And there's More to come!!! Same Bat Time, same Bat Channel :)
I loved your tour. I love BC. I love Canada. Heck I've been a wannabe Canadian for a long time. I love hockey. I love poutine. I can sing all the verses of Oh Canada. I speak French as well as English. I say 'eh' at the end of my sentences, eh? I listen to Nickelback, Three Days Grace, Great Big Sea and Barenaked Ladies. I watch CBC for my hockey coverage even when the same game is on our American channel just to hear broadcasters who know their stuff...and to see what Don Cherry is wearing and saying.
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I get my enhanced ID, I'm coming to visit...you've been warned. Get that guest room decorated!
Ashli, I love all your posts, but this one is extra special!! Thanks for sharing the pics of Beautiful British Columbia!! I grew up in the Fraser Valley, moved across the mountains to the prairies and now live in the SW desert in USA! There is beauty all around if we look for it, but there is something about B.C. that is extra special! My most favorite spot on earth ( I call it my heaven on earth,) is by Revelstoke, a boardwalk in the cedar trees!
ReplyDeleteI think it's so 'neat' that you can stay home and make home a special place for your hubby and sweet puppy! One of my favorite sayings is "Home Sweet Home" and I think you might like it too?!;) Thank you for your inspiring posts.
Ok...now I HAVE to plan a trip!! Love all the markets, the food, and the scenery is to die for. Fried Mars bars, who knew?! That even has Paula Deen beat!!
ReplyDeleteLoved todays tour Ashli.
ReplyDeleteYour part of the world is beautiful and absolutely breathtaking. I visited Canada over twenty years ago (!) and would love to return.
Thankyou for sharing.
xx
I've always heard that Canada was so pretty and you've proved it again and again with your posts and pictures. Thank you for showing off to us why and what you love so much about Canada. I especially LOVE the night market!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the tour! It was really nice to get some perspective and to see the beauty that surrounds you.
ReplyDeleteP.S.
ReplyDeleteNot to sound creepy or anything, but I want your figure! ;)
Awe thanks Erin!! I'm assuming it's Erin and not Matt who wrote that hahha
