Here's how it went down:
"The chickens are in the oven, they'll be ready in about 40 min, I'm just going to run to Homesense to get pillows for the guest room" (my in laws were coming and we had no pillows in the guest room)
Lee: "Ok, I'll put the carrots and potato's on in 20"
Me: "Ok thanks, I'll be back in a second"
40 minutes later, I came home with pillows, pillow cases, gardening gloves and these:
That's right I went to homesense for Pillows and came home with LAMPS. I couldn't help it, I tried to leave without them, but I couldn't! They spoke to my soul, or my addiction to pretty shiny things . . . probably the latter.
I brought them in the door and immediately stated my intention . . . to see how they look and take them back. I put them in place, and Lee agreed they looked GREAT! So really it was Lee who bought new lamps for the living room. :)
I fell in LOVE with their shape, and with their color, Their price wasn't bad either @ $39.99 each.
Another big feature was that they already matched the living room and they wouldn't create a ripple effect throughout our main floor (you know, one change, leading to another), green is already our color of choice for the main floor :)
Needless to say, this wasn't a planned purchase, so that money has to come from somewhere, either it's June's Home Budget or we won't be eating the last week of May :S haha.
I'll let you know
I love the lamp, I love the colour and I love the shape..... I can see why you had to bring them home and Lee loved them. They were made for that lounge room. Lucky you needed guest pillows!!! Kathy (Brisbane, Australia)
ReplyDeleteVery nice!
ReplyDeletehaha! They are really pretty though!
ReplyDeleteOkay, so you know how I think...you had lamps in the living room, you've now replaced them with these pretty little lamps, but now you have the old lamps to repurpose in another room that maybe was in need of a lamp(s)...so it is a win win situation if you ask me!! LOL Love the new lamps and the pop of color they add.
ReplyDeleteThose lamps were a meant to be for you! They look wonderful in your living room. Great shape and fun color!
ReplyDeleteI love those lamps! I wouldn't have been able to resist either!

LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!!!
Veeeeeery nice and very funny :-)
ReplyDeleteAlso expensive: read Ashli's blog and feel an instant urge to go go and change your living room/hall/kitchen/dishes... Our house has definitely improved since I follow your inspirational blog. Only trouble:apart from ikea we don't seem to have the same shops. So I guess one day a biiiiiiiig shipping load will leave CAN to Europe. ...probably expemsive, too. :) carry on decorating/shopping/presenting ideas, well, just living the way you are. Absolutely fabulous!!!
Love the lamp(s)! I wish I could find those at my local store!!
ReplyDeleteEating is overrated anyway! ;)
I bought the same lamp but in turquoise! Glad it came with a decent shade. Don't you find that some of the lamps at Homesense have such hideous shades?
ReplyDeleteThe lamps are amazing and so is the blog. I'm passing on to you the Versatile Blogger Award.
ReplyDeleteWow, that was a bargain too good to pass up- how nice of hubby! Your writing is fun and I'm looking forward to following. I'm your newest follower :)
