All Day painting, can you tell the difference?

There is nothing like spending an entire day painting a section of trim, only to have most people not even notice.
This staircase trim was painted the same color as the wall, it was really bugging me, so we finally buckled down and painted the trim.
What I want to know is, can you even tell?
    OLD TRIM:

    NEW TRIM:

Lee had a good point, the fact that you can't tell means that it really fits in, and looks like it should have always been that way. He always knows just what to say . . . . well, sometimes he finds the right words . . . . Occasionally he'll say something right . . . . well, this time he did GOOD haha Lot of Love to the hubs who painted the paneling at the top of the staircase and the other side (Pictures to come tomorrow).

I think it looks SO much better. It would have bothered me to have that trim the same color as the wall too, and it looks brighter and *right* now. :)

I can tell! I can tell! I think it makes a HUGE difference! Really makes the staircase "pop" vs. when it was painted the same color as the wall. That would have driven me crazy too - good job on the painting. I can appreciate the effort and the end result. :-)

Can TOTALLY tell a difference! It would have driven me nuts painted the same shade a the wall. Same reason why I am now loving our painted ceilings as opposed to white...all the beautiful crown moulding now stands out. Great job!! And, I am loving the little side table and wire basket I spy!!

Thanks everybody :) I'm so glad it wasn't wasted effort!
MAGGIE: We got the sofa off Craigslist for $395. It's a stylus sofa (they're the best, our last sofa was stylus and my Mom's sofa is stylus).

MELANIE- I sewed the paisley pillows myself, the fabric came from Jo-Ann fabrics I believe it's a waverly fabric :) Hope that helps Here's the link to the pillow post:

      HOPELESS CHEST
The Two end table are Ikea console tables they are Ikea's Melltorp Occasional tables. They were very tall and had two shelves, so Lee cut them down with a grinder and now they make really long Side tables.
