The coffee table is actually not a coffee table at all, it is a childrens play table from ikea. I loved the two shelves, the $50 price tag, and as an added bonus if we were ever to add to our family, a tiny chair makes it the perfect spot to color or have a quick snack.
The fireplace has been an issue all unto itself. It's 8 feet long and 2 1/2 feet deep. It sticks out like a sore thumb. Because this is a townhouse there would be alot of hoop jumping to get it removed, besides I love having a fireplace during cold, rainy days (and i don't think Max would ever forgive me if I took his personal heater away). We bought glass tiles from Home Depot and my wonderfully handy husband made a bit of a faux surround. On top of the fireplace is an upside down billy bookcase with a small run of trim around the
This is our Living Room, it functions well, and has about as much color as I can live with. Although once we save up for our new couch there will be less color (i'm thinking something cream, with a chaise attached) :)
AFTER:
1) Couch- Sears Outlet
I'm not sure if there is a sears outlet outside of Canada but if you do have one it's a great place to source furniture and appliances. We purchased our couch, stove, dishwasher and fridge from their outlet store.
2) "Man Chair"- Ikea, I haven't seen the chair at ikea for a long time, but craigslists has one from time to time. Target has this one it is very similar and most big box stores will have a very budget friendly version.
3) Coffee Table- Ikea Children's Play Table, you can find it here.
4) Shelves on Fireplace- Ikea Billy Bookcase, upside down with some cheap Home Depot trim attached.
5) Drapes- Pier 1 I purchased them along time ago so they are no longer in stock but I've always found lots of window coverings I love there. (here's the link)
6) Pillows- Not unlike most of our home accessories, all of the Living Room pillows came from HOMESENSE (aka. heaven) I think it's called HOME GOODS in the U.S.A
7) Baskets- All baskets were bought from Superstore Canada (aka. Loblaws)
Do you EVER mess up your house? LOL
ReplyDeletehaha Yes often! But i'm a stay at home wife so keeping control of the mess is pretty easy and we don't have kids yet, I'm assuming it will be more work once there's little kidlets running around!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! I like the man chair--it almost looks like the Manhattan line at Pottery Barn but without the price tag. :)
